I just had my sunroof seal replaced because of wind noise when closed and found out that BMW just came out with a new seal. My SA called and told me he had the old parts in inventory but could have the new one overnight and suggested I put the new one in.

Just wanted to let anyone who was going to have their seal replaced under warranty that they should ask for the new part. I doubt that most SA's would let people know as they would want to get rid of the old parts in inventory.

Did that fix the wind noise?

Please make sure to post SIB # or additional info and let us know if it took care of the noise. I mentioned before, they did something different in my car, but I still feel a little noise that should not be there...

Just got the car back late yesterday but the wind noise is dramatically reduced. They hadn't closed out my paperwork when I picked up the car so my SA is going to send it to me electronically. When I get it I'll post the part number and any other information I can find.

Hmmm I'd be interested to find out the new part number the last time I had my seal changed the noise came back.

i just had mine changed as well.. about a week ago.. apparantly it was torn.. and the sunroof was "misaligned" so they replaced the deal and aligned the sunroof.. so far so good.. noise is gone.. i think
