sunroof noise

My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i w/ K40 front & rear radar detection, and Front Laser diffuser. 35% Johnson Executive Line window tint.
I purchased my wife a 2005 545i for her birthday and noticed a noise upon closing the sunroof from the vented position. It does not make any noise closing from the fully open position, only when it is vented. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Yes.... I have the noise.
Although it's not just a noise... it's a loud, startling crack sound. It makes me jump every time I hear it.
I will be reporting this when I take my car in for the first service, which will be soon as I've just reached 14,000 miles.

I have an April 2005 build 545i and a quarter of the time I close the
sunroof, it makes a very loud glass clanging noise. When I tried to
show the salesman ... it doesn't make a sound.
Its been my only
complaint. In a previous post, qabman had his sunroof seals replaced
and everthing was fine after that.
