Well, I'll be the black sheep here and say that I use my sunroof all the time...and I'm in NoCal (Bay Area).
Still, Logic 7 rocks and is leaps and bounds above the garbage we got in our E39s.
Pick between the two: go for the sounds!

My Ride: 2005 530i SMG, Sport package, Premium package, L7, Xenon Headlamps, Window Shades, Rear red reflectors
Of the two I would go for the Logic 7. You would use that much more often than the sunroof.

My Ride: 2005 545i SMG. Titanium Grey with Grey interior and Anthracite wood.
Logic 7 all the way. Sunroof is nice, but you live with your stereo more than you do with the sunroof.

Go for HiFi and the sunroof.
I just got HiFi and its superb. 
I love the dark interior - makes the screen seem really light if you kinda get my drift.

I am sure that those that claim they never open their sunroof at least drive with the sunshade opened to let the light in.

My Ride: 2007 Titanium Gray 550i, with sport, nav, HUD, Logic7, sat radio, cold weather, rear side airbags, rear seat heaters, and it goes like a bat outta hell!
I use my sunroof everyday...that being said, I didn't get Logic 7, and regret it!! I I had to choose....I would definitely get the Logic 7......and I'm in California also!

Th sun is so bright here in California 
I don't let the sun come through the sun roof at all. In fact, I tinted the windows with huper optik 30% and wear Revo sunglasses to block out the harmful rays
