Don't know what year you're driving, but I just pulled up an 05 530i for the sake of an example. Looks like REALOEM sells the gaskets for about $35. I seem to remember someone else has done this repair...you might find a DIY if you search. Or, you could be the first!

Hope that helps.

I'll save you the trouble:

By the way, you guys will get a kick out of this...

The other day, I was talking to my service technician and he was telling me how much BMW now relies on software updates or coding to make sure everything works right. He told me (in all seriousness) that they even want them to program the car after replacing the sunroof seal!! We both laughed at the absurdity of the whole thing but hey, you never know...maybe the seal doubles as some sort of antenna or something?

I think this has to do with the sunroof pressure resistance system. My sunroof is quite loud I need to replace mine, but I'm not getting the car reprogramed

I sort of agree but considering there's a way to reset the sunroof independent of any software coding, I still think the whole thing (coding after seal replacement) is pretty absurd...

This is an easy 30 minute fix plus $30 or so for the OEM seal. I did it myself on both my vehicles. You just have to take the time to carefully peel off the old gasket to minimize the cleanup work before putting the new one on. Don't forget to reset the sunroof control afterwards. Good luck!
