the rim size frt are 255/40/19

the rims/wheels work, it's the tires that are different. You can't use M5 ratio tires on a 545, but you can use the wheels/rims if you get the right tires.

F 245/35 - R 275/30 19" Michelin PS2's is a good choice.

The reason why the BMW dealers do not recommend the 166 or the 167's for a E60
is that the offset is not standard for a E60.
The bearings and chassis all in all will get a bigger load (the wheels center is a bit more out from the hubs).
Then the warranties are not good either (for the wheel axles).

But the 166/167 will fit any E60 (not E61) and the looks are simply fabulous.

PS. If your car has the Steptronic ie. auto transmission its a 545iA.

The tyre radius will not change much at all.

Many have gone for 285 rear's. They will fit.

As long as the profile is 30.

But do not go for any other size than 245/35 in front!
