I believe the proposed solution only works for songs ripped from your CDs and saved in the MP3 format. You cannot burn iTunes purchased music and convert them to MP3 format on a CD using iTunes software. If you try it, you'll get a message that says, "iTunes Music Store Files Cannot be burned to an MP3 CD"

If you want to burn iTunes purchased musics to an mp3 format, you'll need to use another file conversion application. Execute a google search on "M4a to MP3" and you'll be presented with lots of options.
