Sorry guys but i a newbie here. I buy a used e60 2004 530i with Premium / Sport Package, Adaptive Headlights, Sportronic 6 speed Aut., Side and rear shades, rear red reflectors...etc. What is that shit of 16.2 Software that you talking about?....Our cars use a software?, for what?, What is the benefits?, Whow many types comes?...16.2....??????? Im very confused!!!

 

You need to do a lot of reading in this forum. Software is basically the heart of the car computer and Idrive. BMW tries to fix a lot of problems by upgrading their software just like the computer software comapnies do! The main issue is for everyupgrade we need to pay or come up with a story to get it done (which is not fare!), it needs to be part of the service!

So my e60 have a tons of problems????....It only have 7,500 miles and never visit service!

 

No not necessarily... some cars are running perfectly fine. Have you noticed any weird behaviors? Like

iDrive freezing,
radio and Air Conditioner turning back on EVERY time you start up your car,
transmission making a loud BANG!
CD player keeps spinning even after you turn off your car,

any of those things?

 

just spend some time reading through the posts and you should find your answer.

 

if you have post 3/04 build date, bluetooth activation alone is worth the sw upgrade. and a lot of the 530i members, including me, had the lag problem before the update but now is gone. 16.2 is the best yet .
