I have noticed that after I have run my car for a while and then stopped the car (i.e. parked and it has sat for a while), I hear a periodic high pitched buzz/tone from under the hood. It runs for a few seconds, is quiet, and then repeats the cycle for a few minutes. When I opened the hood, it seemed to be coming from a square unit on the front of the engine, just below and in front of the oil cap. (I could be wrong but that seemed to be the general location.)
It is odd because it does this when the car is sitting still and has not been running for a few minutes. Is this normal? Any idea what it is?
Thanks!
