When driving around 80mph, I get a strange loud whistling noise from the passanger side havoc area's. Im not sure if it coming from under the dashboard or from the engine compartment. This seems to happan with AC on, but maybe I haven't noticed it with it off as the noise from the windows being open would deaden the sound. It doesn't always happan just a few times at different speed usally highway speeds 60-80mph. Anyone have an idea what this is, im not even going to bother brining it to the dealer as I will get the "can't replicate problem BS" like every other time I been at a dealer.

My car is a 2005 525i the car was 3900 miles.

yes, Thanks! I thought id never find it, so what do I do take it in to the dealer and tell them to replace the windshield and it will be done free of charge or what.


BTW, how much did the 20% window tint all around set you back, if you don't mind me asking.

as for what to tell the dealer... thats a hard one. They'll never believe you that its the windshield... might have to drive some techs around and prove to them and maybe print out some of these posts for evidence.

 

Thanks, im getting my windows tinted with LLumar 35% tint for $275 Wensday the dealer recommended a good place. Its going to be hard to proove to them what the deal is.

 

Dropped the car off today at Knauz motors in Lake Bluff Illinois, wasn't to happy I got a Fing Sebring Seadan with 56,000 miles from Enterprise instead of a courtesy car. Anyway, I told them to debage the car check the windshield whistle. I didn't take them for a drive or do anything else, just told them about the problem .I doubt they will find it, that has me worried a $50,000 car and a horrible and annying problem that will take time to get resolved. I also developed a strange whine from the passanger side rear tire today on the way to the dealer and some steering wheel vibration. I hit a nasty pot hole earlier, I hope nothing was damaged.

As for the window whistle, what do you guys suggest I do ? can someone please point me in the right direction. I want to get it resolved ASAP.

 

Dealer is replacing front windshield. Worst service I have ever encounterd worse then my Jeep dealer. They went on a 46 mile test drive, the car was filthy inside and out. Not that I wanted them to touch the paint, but they did a horrible job at keeping the car clean while testing. This was Knauz Motors in Lake Bluff Illinois BTW.

 

WOW! 46 miles! but they replaced your windshield and is the noise gone now?

 

Nope, they said it will be replaced, they orderd the part. I am due to come back for replacement next Friday.
