Strange AC Issue

My Ride: 2004 545i, 6-speed Manual, Silver Grey Metallic, Grey Dakota Leather, Cold Weather Pkg, Premium Sound Pkg, Sport Pkg, Lumbar Support
I just searched on the word 'climate' as in climate control in "title only" in the e60 discussion forum, and I got three pages of results. The top one describes what I tried to explain, turn your fan speed all the way down, then go one more to the left. This should turn the system off, according to the other posters.

I have the same issue with my 2005 545i, happened twice on my way to work today!
AC turns on randomly...I turn off...and it comes back.
