So I am driving this morning to the office. Nice morning, so I have the windows and sunroof open. All of a sudden I feel cool air on my hands by the steering wheel. I look at the controls and the AC is on. No problem, I turn it Off by pressing the button. Stays Off for a bit, and comes back On! This went on for exactly 23 times during my 15 mile commute. I called the Service Tech and tried explaining, of course he was just as puzzled as me.

Anyone else ever experience this?

I am scheduled to bring the car in on Thursday. I am not sure what they will find or if they can even duplicate it.

Any thoughts?

You should be able to search this topic. From what I remember, others say you should turn the fan speed dial all the way down and then go one more click to the left. You can also turn off the A/C compressor (the snow flake), but that won't stop the fan from blowing. Our cars want to keep fresh air blowing, possibly a safety issue.

I did search. It just started happening within the last few days. I actually recorded the event on my phone during my drive to the office this morning.

Mine does the same thing, I would turn it off but it'll come back on when it gets warmer in the car, I thought it was just me.

or here is a rational explanation, maybe we just accidentally slightly slightly touch the temp knob either left or right one could cause the AC comes on instantly.

I wish I could post this video I took...it's too large. It just started happening within the last 3-4 days.

My cousin has an 04 525 and he brought it to the dealer under warranty and he said it stopped doing it. I always thought it was normal.
