Store car for 3 months. Need advice.
Hi everyone,
I need to store my 2006 530xi for 3 months. Went to dealer today and they said for 2006 cars, all the cigarette lighter plugs will go to a sleep mode and no triggle charger will work.
My questions is should I disconnect the battery terminals? just leave it? or get a friend to start the car engine once in a while (the car will have no driving insurance, so he can only start the engine and leave it idle. Is this useful?)
All comments are welcome. Thanks.

I say just leave it alone.
Be sure it has a full tank of gas.

When we had a boat, we took it up at winter and stored it for 5-6 months a year (wintertime, with temprature between -20 to 5 C). The battery was at home in a room with temprature just over freezing. No problems at all!

If possible, just leave it at a friends house and make him drive it a few times in the period....

No problem, you can park it on my driveway for that purpose

Hey Tommy, thanks for the offer, but where is Belgium?
Thanks everyone for reply. Is starting the car engine and idle only without driving any good in charging the battery?

Leave at my house I will make sure that it gets a good run at least once every 2 weeks.
Make sure when you store you leave a full tank of gas to avoid issues with water residues.

If you have GPS, you should be able to find Belgium
