Stolen Mirrors?

I remember a thread a few weeks ago regarding someone with stolen mirrors in the New York area... well after browsing through ebay, look what I came across..

..or it could just be someone who went the m5 mirror route, no clue

thanks for the heads up but the stolen bits were just the glass (in my case ) and the other e60 i saw had missing (just the mirror glass) also. I would still like to find the fucker though lol

In NYC this has been a problem for years with Lincoln Town cars and GM and Ford trucks and vans. They stea just the glass. Alot of the owners put a metal frame around the mirror and secure it with rivets. First time I hear of this happening to a high end car, something new to worry about.

They got me sometime between Friday night and Saturday evening right in front of my gate.
I was parked across from a street light. They took both side mirrors(glass only) from my 2008 528xi.
I think this was done by a pro. no scrtach, no damage, no cut wires.
See attached pictures.
I lived in the Bronx in a pretty safe and quite neighbour hood.
Hopefully I can purchase just the glass from the dealer.
It maybe more expensive buying from the dealer but I am going to support these crook by buying
from a local shop or ebay.
