Hi all, i just wanted to know how much difference there is in the sound of the stock exhaust and say an eisenmann sport exhaust? if anyone has sound clips or videos of both the exhausts please post or give links. my 550i is arriving soon and am pretty excited abt it but im not so sure how good itll sound.

I can't answer regarding an Eisemann exhaust but I have heard the Dinan exhaust. Both as a clip and from behind a 650i with it. Its noticeably louder and deeper. I haven't heard it from inside the car.

I personnally wouldn't mind a bit more exhaust sound from my 550i but I really like the tone and gurgle of the stock exhaust. Plus the quietness is nice. The 550i is a bit more quiet crusing, light throttle, and full throttle than an '06 650i which was more quiet than an '02 M5 which I thought was a very quiet car.

 

Perhaps change the subject since "stock sound" is a tad misleading and sounds like a discussion of what one would expect, the car's sound system
