my steptronic never feels like it goes to 6th in DS mode... or in any case the revs are always 700-800+ higher at 80mph in DS that when in D

a question or two:
in DS mode, when i move from auto-mode to manual-mode, does the first movement of the shifter actually change gears or does it put it into manual-mode (and of course, shows current gear selection) from which point you are shifting gears?

next, when in manual-mode, can i revert to auto-mode without shifting out of DS to D and back again?
