i think you won't burn the engine but just wonder why would you want to do this ?

This would definitely lead to increased wear to if not the engine, then at least other parts of the car. I would doubt there is any car out there that would be able to handle constant redline accelerations.

Accelerating like this doesn't sound like a necessity

You would never need to do that in 545i. The 525 just isn't enough for you.

Agreed! 525 should be all about a nice ride, reliable, efficient, and excellent handling (probably better than the 545, at least I thought the 530 was when I drove it). Save the wear and tear, for what?

It's no problem and the engine is able to handle it without a problem. Maybe your engine will not last for 500.000 miles but 400.000 miles due to the extra wear and tear. I think the car will fall apart earlier then your engine will. The 525 engine and 530 engine are proven to be very reliable and problem free.

Have fun redlining!! (I know I do)

In theory it's safe because the electronics will prevent damage. However, hitting the rev-line all the time is probably pointless because it's not usually the most efficient point to shift...

For what you're doing you might as well stick it in S (SPORT) mode.
