I?ve had problems with the steering wheel before. The first time, the steering wheel wouldn?t go back up after turning the car off. I had the column replaced then it worked fine. Now the steering wheel won?t go down but it only happens intermittently. Of course, the SA can?t reproduce the problem. He did say that this model has been having problems like this and replacing the entire column is not uncommon. Wish I could be more help.

i had this problem with my old car, when you switched off the column didn't go up.
my fix was this:
switch on the car
move the steering wheel down (with the switch) and then move it to the top and down again.
Switch off car, get out and lock and re-enter the car.
Switch on and see if it works
