I noticed that the steering wheel buttons to change channels on my 08 550i doesn't change the channel to a preset but actually seeks to the next channel it can acquire. First time any BMW I have owned was liike that. Saw nothing in the owners manual. Any ideas or is it just this way? Tks

Change your tuner band settings in iDrive from Manual to Preset and then the steering wheel buttons will work like you want them to.

That did it. Thanks for the tip. Another question. When I looked at e60's a few years ago I thought there was a way to show what you wanted on either the big screen or small screen. For example, show the radio on the big screen and just your map on the small screen. Thought I remember a switch screen feature but have not come across this on my '08. Tks

^^^You should already have the split-screen - the smaller screen will only show NAV and trip displays. In order to take control of either screen just click the iDrive knob either right or left, you will see a gold box around the active screen. If its on the small screen the press the iDrive button to see the options.

I think the voice command is "Driver Assistance WIndow", then "options"
