Steering Wheel

This is wierd... My steering wheel always went up a little when I shut the car off so I figured it was working as it should. Today I was playing around with the steering wheel adjustments and got it to move much much higher, way, way up and out of the way. Now when I turn the car off it goes to this much higher posistion versus just moving up a little bit as it used to.
I know this was discussed before where people's wheels wouldn't move up at all, but this is a little wierd. Maybe i'm just a little nuts but it's so much better for me since i'm quite tall, 6' 3" or 4". See my pic below. The wheel in its highest posistion when the car is off is around 21 inches from the floor.
As I was doing this I remembered the headlight bracket problem from a month or two ago. I re-checked my brackets, which the dealer replaced, and they are still good (not cracked). Good!

I'll take some measurements with my car. Actually I haven't tried them to go up furthermore then they are when I turn the car off. Maybe mine can go up higher too!

How far does my steering wheel go up?!?!? That's a very personal question Lomag!
Seriously, I'll have to measure, but at 6' 3", my steering wheel preference is as high as it goes, so it doesn't move up and out of the way when I stop the car.

If I have the steeringwheel all the way up while driving I feel like a harley davidson pilot with the "ape-hanger" steer!

Iceman, that extra half inch makes all the difference.
Actually, just my personal preference, otherwise the top of the steering wheel cuts across my speedo and tach as I look at them. Actually, I'll play w/ it this evening, but I set it in the dealer show room to where I found it comfortable and have never played with it since.

This is true. In the way my steeringwheel is positioned now I cannot see my right blinker indicator very clearly. Most times it sits behind the steeringwheel. Strangely the left side is very vissible for me. I sit straight in my chair and don't hang to the right (as far as I know). It gives me the idea that the dash is a bit to far to the left for me. But hey, maybe I am just not normally build????
