My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.

Good day everyone,
I have a persistent sound coming from my steering. Every time I turn, no matter to the left or right I get this nylon rubbing sound from the steering system. I took it to the dealer for a list of problems, bur for this they said there is a nylon washer extremely difficult to get to, and something CPO would not cover since it's not causing steering problems. The dealer said they try to squirt some lubricant down in the steering column, but didn't think it would help it much. Well they were right, it didn't help at all. I was just wondering if anyone here had a similar problem, and had a solution for it's resolution. It's more of a annoyance then anything...
2004 BMW 530i - plain Jane setup, no Active Steering
Thanks!

Common issue and it requires a dealer visit. Mine was fixed by adding some additive to the steering wheel fluid.

Common issue, and yet mine still suffers from it. After the dealer squirt some lubricant down the steering column I noticed it wasn't as bad, but it's still there and can be heard pretty clearly. So it's gone from terrible to bad. Ideally I'd like to find not so bad, tolerable, or fixed. Any of those would be sufficient for me.
