Unhappy

Just thought I would share todays joy.

Over the weekend my steering lock failure warning came up on my Idrive. Knowing that my warranty runs out tomorrow I contacted my dealer - Blue Bell BMW Crewe - who very helpfully got my car in the workshop today.

Outcome is that it needs a new steering column - @?1000. The warranty is covering it. WOW how lucky was that?

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

UPDATE:

New steering lock fitted and all well. I decided to call BMW UK and discuss the many issues I have had with the car since I bought it 12 months ago. In response they have extended the warranty by 12 months free of charge - I can sleep again now!
