Steering knuckle, How to?

My Ride: 2005 530d
Been to the stealers today about the slight knock from the steering at low speeds and over low bumps.
The service manager said it was a common problem with them 530d e60 and most likely the steering knuckle needs lubricated.
Is this an easy job i can do myself, if so can someone explain how to do it in.
My car is out of warranty by the way.
