Steering and handling problems

I have a pre-august '04 E60 with NON-run flat. I have exactly the same handling issues, perfect on even road surfaces, dangerous on un-even surfaces.
My car is going back to the dealer for the software upgrade Jan 19 (which I had to tell the dealer about!!).
I am fed up with it, as otherwise it is agreat car (apart from the sticking cup holders)....
Any advice appreciated!
Good luck.
Will let everyone know the results - has anyone else had this upgrade dealer-fitted?

I got the car back now. They said it was a tire issue and tha only way to get rid of it was to get 17" and tires. They said that swiching just the tires would not help.
HAS ANYONY SWICHED TO THE MICHELINE SPORT AS with the sport wheels ?
If so how do they feel compared with the stock Dunlops?

Wait a minute! Your dealer just told you there is something wrong with both the tires and rims? I can believe the run flats causing the problem, but if you dealer is telling you that you have to replace the rims as well, sounds you need to tell him that it will be out of their pocket if the rims are defective/problem.

[/quDid the tires and rims come with the car from BMW? If so, you should not be responsible for any charges to change them. Stand up for your rights and don't let them railroad you.

Some of those dealers must hate us and this board. Spoiling their chances to rip off their customers.

[/quote]I suggest you give yourself a chance to get used to the handling characteristics of the car. You may conclude that the performance you get from the fat tires and big wheels is worth putting up with a ride that is not as comfy as your last car.
