Steering Column noise

Any one have an unusual noise from the steering column after turning off the car when it goes back up. Any ideas what it might be. It is very intermittent. 2004 545 premium/sport

I'm experiencing something similar with my 04' 525. When I place the key in the ignition and the steering wheel stats to go down it makes a grinding/creeking noise. I notice that if the temperature outside is cold (50 degrees or lower) the noise is minimal, but when the weather is hot (70 degrees +) it is louder. Anybody know what the problem may be?

I have a noise coming from the engine bay when I turn my wheel from left to right , it's a squeaky sound and you can hear it from outside of my car. It's a little embarrassing , any ideas what it could be? maybe the steering rack needs some lube but these are electronic , right?
