Having a serious issue with the starter...
Car engine was rebuilt, now car is having starter issues.
SCENARIO: Starter fails, replace starter with new, car starts 1st time and car runs fine, turn off car, and then try to start car again and starter dies and even smell smoke at times, which is the starter getting blown. Checked wiring and all seems to be fine. This is like the 3rd time. Parts store is not going to keep swapping the starter for us like that for free now.
What can be the issue?

sorry for your troubles.
a few obvious things first
it could be just faulty cheap starters. (Ive fitted two and had no problems)
wrong starter. ( gears could not be correct when alighning with the fly wheel)
lastly
It could be an electrical problem for example, a wire could be jammed between things when the motor was refitted causing a short and the smoke.
I will be interested to see what it finally turns out to be

Thanks, I really look forward to finding out what it is as well. We even changed out the wiring harness, and it still happened after that.
That's why I said its serious and weird. Why start and then not start again after.
Some more input would be greatly appreciated.

Are you installing a bosch starter? I would check the starter first out of the car that way you know if its good or not and go from there.
