Default standard vs sports suspension; need new shocks

I have the 2004 530 with sport package. Is there a difference in the struts between standard and sports suspension or is it stiffer springs? What makes it the sports package with the suspension other than the tire/rim size?

Thanks

Different springs with lower ride height is one difference. You need shocks designed for cars with lower ride height (Koni sports, Bilstein sports, etc).

Thanks. I'm wondering if the standard shocks look different than the sport package shocks. It seems some are blue while the ones I have are silver.

Get some Koni's or Bilstein sports. I picked up a complete set of brand new Bilstein sports from Turner for $660.

I have the Bilstein b6 (just replaced my shocks last Friday). They are definitely worth the money IMHO.
