I have posted this before a couple of months ago and now its a serious problem. My radio keeps going out. For the past couple of months my radio won't work when I get out of the car and get right back in. This only happened a couple of times. Over the last month this has happened almost everyday. I would be driving and the radio would just go out or turn to static. I have tried going to CD or WB or even AM and nothing works. The CD works but everything else has no sound. I am going in for service on Friday and will let you know what happens.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have not experienced that same issue, but the radios are having problems.

Mine loses it pre-sets quite a bit. They just disappear and you cannot add them back. But when I stop the car and turn it off for a while (like while shopping), they all come back. And no, this has nothing to do with a different key being used. If that were the case, I would just have different pre-sets and/or would be able to set them back.

I also get static on certain CDs at high volumes. Random "pops".

My AM radio has feedback/static on all stations. Even the strong ones. Seems very prevalent with spoken words on AM.

So the radio units definitely have issues. I cannot believe BMW let these down the assembly line.

I HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO STATIC AND GOING OFF. JUST GOT CAR BACK FROM SERVICE MONDAY AND THEY BLAMED TELEPHONE INSTALL WHICH IS NOT BMW.. ONLY PROBLEM IS I HAD THIS PROBLEM ONCE IN A WHILE FOR MONTHS BEFORE PHONE INSTALL. I HAVE HAD LUCK GETTING RADIO BACK ON BY PUSHING DOWN ON IDRIVE AND GOING INTO COMMUNICATION SETTINGS AND SCROLLING AROUND. WHY THIS WORKS I DO NOT KNOW. ALSO WHEN RADIO GOES OUT OR STATIC IT ALSO AFFECTS CD PLAYER IN SAME WAY.

GOOD LUCK

trichman,

Don't mean to be critical but when you use all caps, it's like you're yelling at us.

My CD player always works and I don't have a phone installed. I'll try the communication browse. Hopefully BMW can fix it. 45 min rides one way back and forth to work suck if you don't have music or any CD's.

I wonder if this problem only effects the non-premium radios?
