The stock sound system is pury shit.

I so regret not getting the Logic7

Are we really talking about the same audio system here???

I do have the standard Nordic radio/CD and the sound is not bad at all.
I have heard that someone do not even feel the base?

My home system with manhigh KEF speakers is better but...

MP3s are only as poor as your rip rate
MP3s are a poor appropximation to the original signal independent of any other factor.

"Rip rate" has nothing to do with quality. Sampling rate has a small effect but when you are throwing away large proportions of the original signal and then guessing how it should be recreated what do you expect?

I listen to MP3s from the e60 CD drive for convenience but not for sound quality.

As you probably know, how enjoyable recorded music sounds isn't simply a matter of signal information. Having every bit of the original signal played through a clock radio can sound way worse than an mp3 through a fine system. This idea is unfortunately supported by the fact that the Logic7 sounds lousy from the cd player too.

And as I said in an earlier post, the real shame is that auto sound is one of the only fields in audio where system designers have near total control over the most important factor: the room itself--its dimensions and materials, and even the position of the listening chair. With this huge advantage there's no excuse for an unlistenable setup.

The standard UK system is ok and does sound good with some well produced music, however, the HiFi upgrade is miles better and well worth the extra cash. I love mine! I've heard the L7 and would say its only slightly better and not really worth the extra over the HiFi upgrade. Just my HO.

I don't recall hearing about a HiFi upgrade. The only upgrade I was aware of was the Logic7. Is this a non-US option only or did I miss something?

whats a "HiFi" upgrade? is it an option or 'do-it-yourself' kind of thing?

Factory fit option, speakers, tweeters, subs and amp - certainly in EU.

With no context, sure.

But in the context of the HiFi Speaker Upgrade being a non-US option, nothing was missed by Geno.

Or maybe you disagree?
