Although I have never been bothered about the Advanced aircon option ( due to cost ) I have been wondering whether it is possible to remove the standard rotating control dials and replace with the much more aesthetically pleasing advanced aircon dials. As far as I can make out the dial size seem the same and I assume they just push onto the same spindles. Anyone got a TIS manual which has details of this query.

They are probably the same size but i think that the fitting is totally different for them both.

Mark - I've searched my TIS CD and can't find it listed. I've only just downloaded it, so I may have overlooked something. I'll get back if I do find it 'cos I agree - it would look better.

Mark,

I'm not sure that they will fit. The advanced aircon buttons are all marked with lettering - MAX with snowflake symbol, OFF, and REST with 3 arrows. They also have small LED lights in them and it is only the outside silver circle of the control that actually turns leaving the inner part fixed at all times.

You'll have to get Mr O'R to throw in advanced aircon on your new car

Golfnut,
Would certainly be grateful if you could spare the time to find relevant diagrams of aircon controls on TIS.

ISUK,
My gut instinct is that the spindles to which the rotary aircon knobs will be the same on both advanced and standard aircon.
I doubt whether Mr O'R will chuck in advanced aircon but if you want to persuade him to do so I won't complain

Mark - I'll try to get round to it this weekend. As I say, I'm no expert in navigating this database yet!

I don't think they are interchangable...

The Basic aircon is a "knob" from what I can see in the diagram. The Advanced Aircon is an outer rotating ring with a button in the middle.
