I read my owners manual and was pretty sure I had this feature but not so sure now. 2008 528i. Does it have headlight washers? I have no added packages. The manual says to pull the lever towards you to activate windshield and headlight spray. I do this, but only get spray on the windshield. My front bumper has 2 rectangular cut outs right under each headlight. I figured this meant I had headlamp sprays also. Am I wrong? Had my wife pull the lever and expecting to see some nozzles pop open and spray my headlamps, but nope.

lights have to be on, and they spray like every third time or so that you pull the stalk. something like that.

You see. Another perfect example of why I love this forum. My manual does NOT explain this and I would have never figured this out in a million years!

are you sure you don't have any additional pkgs and you have a base model. If you have the rectangular cutouts and the headlight washers then that would imply you have the cold weather pkg (ZCW)

here's an ordering guide for 2008 models, it states what standard along with what comes with each additional pakage..

http://www.5series.n...tion_Sheets.pdf

headlight washers only come with the cold weather pkg AFAIK

So maybe I only have the cut-outs, but I could have them installed if I wanted? I know I don't have the cold weather package. I've seen my original window sticker and the only added option was NAV.

I find out for sure when I get home today. Dammit !

It's like finding money and then getting a surprise medical bill right after!

go to the dealer and have an SA look up your car via VIN...that will tell you everything you have...and yes, you can retrofit the headlight washers if you like.

+1 The cut outs are there even if you don't have CWP. Had them on both my E60's without CWP...
