Default Squealing Brake - Right side only

Hey everyone,

So I posted a thread a bit ago about my steering wheel shaking when braking and I have since changed my front discs and pads. That problem has been fixed!

But now...My right brake squeaks/squeals when I brake. I have broken in the brakes and specifically stopped from 100km an hour to about 20 and then 60km an hour to 20 about 5 or 6 times each.

At first it was more prevalent when I would brake from higher speeds, but since braking them in, I've noticed it's a lower speeds.

Everything during the change was done the same but I'll be honest, I didn't toqrue the slide pins in at 22ft lb...I just made sure they were snug. I made sure to grease the metal on metal points between the caliper bracket and pads, made sure to lube the pins with Silicone lube. Now I didn't grease the back of the pads because I noticed they came with shims.

Any suggestions on hat's wrong?

Thanks,

V.

What I've found to work best is to coat everything on the BMWs. Works like a charm every time

Yea eh? I've been doing more research and I think I'm gonna get some brake quiet stuff and put it on the back of the pads. I noticed there was red rubbery stuff on the old pads and found out that was the CRC brake quiet. Fingers crossed!

That's exactly what I use but the last time just put silicone after cleaning the calipers good. I wanted to test to see if i actually need the brake quiet or not. I have about 10k on them without squealing.

I'm gonna get the brake quiet stuff just to have more piece of mind. I don't wanna have to take the wheel and caliper off again haha.

I never lube my brakes and have never had any problems with noise.

One time I had an annoying squeak at low speeds and it turned out to be my brake wear indicator.

The new pads don't have a one I don't believe and the sensor is on the driver side not right side.

So I applied the brake quiet solution but they still squeal. I've noticed now that I hear a squeak even when I'm not breaking!

I've ordered higher quality and move expensive brake pads off rock auto.

The new thing I noticed is that the outer brake pad was loose when put into the caliper, like the retention clip wasn't doing it's job...could that be the issue?

Thanks.
