i have the squeaking voice too. how do i know its the sensor or the pads?

anyway, how does the sensor look like?

and am i supposed to change the rottor along with the pads?
this is as far as i know so i may be wrong.

that squealing sound comes from both cases.

when you have faulty brake sensor, if you are not lucky, u will hear it.

also when your pad is done, in this case u will hear from any cars.

i believe the sensor is just a metal piece that comes with the brake pad but eventually weird geometry of 5 series' sensor, it gets worn out on some vehicles so u won't get the notification on the idrive.

i think you only need to change the pad that comes with sensor so make the sound go away but on some 5's it never goes away like mine.

correct me if i'm wrong.

i brought up this thread because the dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty...so wanted to get inputs how i can make the dealer to replace them at their own charge.
