I have hard to understand that the rattle would come from the rear window.

Do you have spilt rear seats?

I discovered this noisy parcel shelf issue in Finnish winter, it didn't come up in mild German weather.
During the warranty, I mentioned it to the dealer and they put some extra foam, isolation, whatsoever under the parcel so the squeeky noice has more or less stopped. But this issue came out only when the car was below 0 Celsius degrees conditions. Never during summer months.

Can't tell for sure but it looks like some sort of rubber bumper. If removing it stopped your problem, that's great news but I'd be sure that the removal of it won't cause some new issue in the future...

Glad you solved the noise problem!
