I'm having the same problem. I took mine car in about 6 months ago and they stated that they grind-ed down the sensors. It fixed the problem till about three weeks ago. I took it back and the SA stated that everything checked out okay and there was nothing they could do about the squeaking. I was PISSED off took the car. I'm think of taking it back and demand that they do something. I don't know what to do at this time.

Any ideas?

I heard that it could be a buildup of some sort on the rotors. A film can form there that can cause squeaking. You might want to try taking it up to 60 on a straight road and then slamming on the brakes to a stop. Do this twice and see if it clears up the problem. I realize this might sound a little crazy but i've read this suggestion on the board numerous times.

Technical Service

This Service Information bulletin supersedes Service Measure B34 202 03 dated July 2003.

SUBJECT
Brake Squeals

MODEL
E60 (5 Series)

E61 (5 Series Sports Wagon)

E63 (6 Series Coupe)

E64 (6 Series Convertible)

SITUATION
Some customers may complain of a brake squeal noise during light brake application.

CAUSE

Wear sensor geometry (part of the sensor head protrudes beyond the edge of the brake disc).

Wear sensor material (the material combination of the wear sensor/brake disc can cause squealing noises under certain circumstances).

CORRECTION
In case of a customer complaint, install improved brake pad wear sensor. Improved wear sensor geometry and material have been implemented in 01/06.

PROCEDURE

Determine that the noise is not caused by random occurrence which can happen just before the brake pad wear limit is reached.

Replace the brake pad wear sensor and new brake pads only on the noisy axle.
