My driver seat just started to squeak last week (12,000 miles) but, I think it is due to the fact that I took my car on a track. I probably stressed something. I will mention it to the dealer next time I'm in for service. For now, I will just keep the radio volume up!

The whole back seat shelf area squeeks on mine - no front seat problems (yet). Bear in mind, this is a common issue with 5er's - at least in my experience. My 2001 540 had squeeky seats and doors.

some of us have this problem. it's the seatbelt anchors rubbing the side of the seats. some used a piece of cloth in between the anchor and the seat, noise is gone. hope this help .

I had this exact problem. I played with the seat adjustment and the sqeak disappeared - plus I found a more comfortable position. Good luck.

I have the same problem and it isn't the seatbelt anchor. Something inside my seat is making the irritating noise. Dealer has tried to solve it for 3 times now.. I'll try with another seatposition if I can resolve it.

Had same squeak two differnt times now. First time I took in to the dealer and they took the back of the driver seat off and put some sheathing on the cables inside the seat. - This fixed the issue for about two months.

Second time it started happening I adjusted the seat high all the way down back, and then moved it all the way up and forward and then back to my normal position...amazingly this fixed the problem. I think the squeaking is due to various cables inside the seat back that start rubbing together. If you play with the seat settings the way I mention above the cables are likely to end up in different positions and thus the squeaking sound is gone. Give it a try!

By the way, the sound I am talking about is DEFINITELY not the seat belt anchor rubbing against the side of the seat.

Thanks for the suggestions about moving the seat. It worked!!! I moved my seat to the extremes and then reset it to my normal driving position and BINGO, no more squeaks!!!

Had Carbaflo put on the door seals by my dealer last week but still getting squeaks/rattle from the back seats?

Apart from the seat belt anchors, any ideas where to check for the squeaks???
Happens mostly when driving over bumpy roads.

Maybe when I take my car back to the dealer in a few months time, I'll get them to remove the back seat and check for any loose cables/parts.

I had rattle that was driving me nuts as well. Thought it was in the back seat area, but upon driving around with the tech, we actually isolated to the passenger seat. Turns out there were a couple of loose screws in the headrest area. Tightened up and now she's nice and quiet.
