I have a 2004 530i and I keep hearing what sounds to be a rubber rubbing on rubber noise while regular driving on the streets. I was thinking it could be the weather strips or the door seals since it the sound seems to be coming from that area. Can you guys help me find and fix the problem?. Thanks.

Creaking door seals are a well known problem on these cars. Had the problem on both my E60's and even get periodically on my M3. Clean the painted surface where it contacts the rubber seal with Dawn or something similar. You can also use some lube on the seal to alleviate the creaking... Dealer replaced mine under warranty but it eventually came back. I found that getting wax on the painted surface was the primary culprit. The Dawn detergent will clean off the wax.

Do a search on creaking seals or call your local dealer. I've never used the lube ( ), just the cleaning process. Pretty much solved it for me. You need to give it some elbow grease to really remove any wax residue, but be sure to use a micro fiber cloth...

Carboflo I think is the lube that they use on the seals. Also your seat belt rubbing on the side of the leather seat can cause noise  I place a micro fiber rag between the seat and seat belt to get rid of that noise

Also use a small fingernail brush to (gently) brush up the fuzzy portion of the rubber moldings around the door. The combination works to reduce noise.
