Sprint booster

forget any kind of thoery behind the sb, to judge it youve got to try it.
It isnt perfect but ive tried many times with and without and always opt for with.
I dont think the learning adaptive nature of the auto tranny is completely suited to it but the package copes.
It certainly seems to make good use of the 530d torque giving a more sporty drive with pin you in the seat accel with very little effort and general lag is greatly reduced.
I dont experience the same effect without the sb and pushing the pedal further.

My Ride: Car
The signals are electronic rather than mechanical; the SB simply amplifies the signals. Stomping on the gas as hard and as fast as you can will not yield the same results as a SB.

My Ride: A Car faster than yours.....
Is it true on what he is saying? or is he wrong so i can take that bet for $1000
"the sprint booster is such a dumb idea. All it does is trick your ecu in to thinking your pedal is further down than it actually is, heres a tip that will save you some money, JUST PUSH THE PEDAL FURTHER DOWN, AND FASTER YOURSELF. That will do the exact same thing as the "Sprint Booster". seriously guys i dont know how anyone would consider getting this.
A tune from someone like ESS does do something similar, but it is also actually giving you more power.
I will bet you $1000 that if you put your car on a dyno it will make EXACTLY the same power before and after you installed this thing.
It just takes away any pedal modulation that you had before and makes it operate more like a switch instead of a pedal. If you ask any real high performance driver, you need the pedal modulation in order to drive a car fast. This device is great if you are building a drag E39. but you are not, so i say GARBAGE
DO NOT BUY THIS.
save money and get a REAL TUNE!!!:no no
EDIT: I just checked the prices for this crap.... you have got to be kidding me. A tune from a reputable company is LITERALLY LESS THAN $100 more... just get a real tune
From the official sprintbooster site " you will feel as though your car has more muscle than it really does!" this is just like getting fake air vents, or m5 bages, or turbo sound exhausts."

I noticed the "lag" from day one.
It was more like notchy??
I complained and of course they said it was normal - as a matter of fact it doesnt even exist!!
Why cant this be programmed out or is it toyota syndrome that they are afraid of??

Here's a link to a technical white paper which will answer all your questions:
SprintBooster.pdf
Conclusions
The Sprint Booster is a simple amplifier that multiplies the accelerator pedal
sensor signal, making the accelerator pedal more sensitive. It does not eliminate
any significant delay in throttle response, nor does it greatly improve acceleration
figures. It does not change the adaptive throttle control programming of
electronic throttle control vehicles. It does change pedal ?feel?. This change in
feel is interpreted by some as improved throttle response, acceleration, and a
change in adaptive throttle control programming. Considering what it actually
does, it is expensive.

I think most people that say they like it are only telling others to try it out and make your own opinion. Those that don't like it (or don't want to try it) are always trying to prove why it's a waste of money.
I had the V1 and really liked it, but thought it would be nice to turn it off if my GF drove the car. Soon as the V2 came out, I jumped on it! I take mine off each time I go to the Stealership. By the time I return home I realize how much I miss the SB. I love it!
I could have easily gone out and bought something else for the money, like a overpriced blueray player or take the family out for a big dinner on me. To me, the SB is money well spent. Just my 2 cents.

I have a "Sport" Button below my automatic transmission on the console. I thought this "Sport" Mode had the same effect as sprint booster.
