I have been the part of the proud few that enjoyed the SMG on my 07. And now they don't offer that option anymore. Any comments or opinions on the "sport transmission"? I know it comes with paddle shifters and it has cool looking stick, but is it really all that better than the standard steptronic? Anyone driven both? and could make a comparison? Is it just a remapping of the software and paddle shifters? I was told by the dealer that the actual transmission was different hardware wise.

After hearing how good it is from quite a few people, Rudy included, my CA has it, Calpalmer, they all say good things about the SAT and for $500 go for it. It will be on my new order 2010 535i.
