Sport mode in manual transmission?
#1
Hi everyone, this is my first post on this site. I've gotten good info here already (like how to program the garage door opener!).
I just upgraded from a 1999 540i to a 2005 545i and so far love the car.
One thing I can't seem to find is if there is a specific way to engage sport mode. This car has a 6 speed transmission. The owners manual seems to indicate that there is a sport button which I don't see. In the 540 is was pretty clear how to engage sport. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is on the manual. Automatic you slap the shifter to the left. For SMG there is a sports button.

Just as a follow up on this question, is there any performance impact of having the sport package versus no sport package with a manual transmission?
It sounds like Sprintbooster is what is recommended here to improve performance. Any negatives? Warranty issues, etc?
