I tried searching for this and went through about 30 irrelevant threads...

If I activate sport mode and then later turn the car off, when I start the car again it defaults back to the regular transmission mode.

Does anyone know a way to make the car default to sport mode whenever you start the car, or am I forever destined to always hit the sport button every time I crank the car?

Yes that's the way it's supposed to work. When I first start/drive my car I leave it in "normal mode" during the first few miles to allow it to warm up, then I switch to sport mode. My logic is it's better to use the less agressive shift/throttle maps when the car is cold. Probably not a big deal either way.

+1 Makes sence not to take the revs up high when the engine is cold.
cheers

Don't you have to put system into Park Mode and as it is the only way to remove the key. Doing so takes you back into standard mode, no way to get around that. (at least for models that still have keys)

No, I have comfort access. Don't put it in park before I turn the engine off. It automatically does that when I hit the stop button.

Didn't realize that putting the trans in park disables sport mode.
