My car was in the body shop as some jerk keyed my driver side door. They did a great job on the repair, and delivered the car back to me on a flat bed truck. I poked my head in the car to make sure all was OK ? seemed fine but a bit of paint smell ? to be expected.
In any case, I returned to the car the next morning and found the rear passenger window down, rain pouring into the car. Nothing stolen, no sign of breakage. I have also determined from the shop worksheet that they did some dismantling to the driver?s door to repaint and repair the damage, and they have also not reconnected my stereo speakers in the door.
Question ? I have read about people arriving to find all their windows down, and this is attributed to accidentally holding the buttons down on the key fob. Is it possible that the shop has crossed wires in the electric window operation that could cause just 1 window to go down for some reason? It's possible when I inspected the car I leaned on the button for the window and lowered it and never noticed ? not probable, but not impossible.
Any thoughts?

It is sloppy that they didn't wire the speakers in the drivers door back up so it's quite possible some wiring was damaged or messed up. I suppose the rear window could be affected by this but it seems kind of strange. Did you get rain damage in your car due to the rear window being down? If so then you might want to bring the car to a main dealer to have them inspect the wiring harnesses inside the driver's door panel for any wiring problems/damage before you go back to the body shop.

That's a tough one... it's hard to know what happened really.

I think it's mighty coincidental that this type of thing happened after work was done on the door that has all the window switches. If all windows were down, I'd suspect an accidental key fob press but just one window? I don't think so...
