[/quote]NHSTA requires Red Reflectors per their code. You will note that several other BMW models have Red reflectors when they arrive on our shores. There may have been an issue at some point, but I believe BMW has made more of this than they care to say.

My Ride: 545i; Manual Shifter
These don't make too much of a difference to me.
However, I would prefer BMW had not put anything there at all. No cutout, no reflector. Just body work all the way down the bumper.
