I drive an 08 535i and was wondering how to set up the car to chime whenever a certain speed is hit. I know it isn't a speed limiter, but I don't know how else to word it. For example, if I hit 80, just to make sure I dont go above, isn't there a setting somewhere "hidden" in the iDrive where I can set that up? I have navigation, so I do have iDrive before anyone responds with, " you have to have iDrive" lol...thanks

The answer is yes, but I suspect you would like to know how to do it. Maybe its under the Car Data menu?

You need to find On-board Info then click Limit which can be set manually or Accept current speed set whilst driving. It might be better to set it manually.

Turn on voice command and say "Limit" it will take you right to the menu for setting the speed.

I like that, for some reason I never really looked to see how to use the voice commands.

It's on page 78 of my car manual. Have you got one? It even covers cars without navigation. I have posted a PDF of this manual but it isn't up to the year of your car.
