i wouldnt actually call it a gimmick. its definitely there..ive noticed the volume does change every 20mph (at 20, 40, 60...)
is it really necessary? not really. the car is quiet as it is.

It is useful if you drive the 5 around with the sunroof open and windows down alot.

It works great when the top is down on the 6, for sure I notice that sometimes I have to up the volume manually on the Z4 at highway speeds (which for me is usu. 80+mph).

It definitely works with my logic 7 system better than it did with my std US radio in my previous E60. Try adjusting the settings and you may notice a difference.

Yeah it might be a usefull tool! But almost every minute i adjust the volume manually so...mmm, maybe on long trips or when the windows/sunroof is down! Too bad you can't tottaly turn it off....

You can hear the volume getting louder clearly at about 40mph.

Much more noticeable and adjustable than my Audi. On fairly rapid accel up to 80/90 mph u can really hear it kicking in along the way up and same with deceleration going down in volume. I think I have it set at just over mid point right now.
