neither of your choices will give you better sound on their own. Infact if you simply swap the drivers you will find the sound becomes poorer. The only thing you can swap are the tweeters. If you want to change the speakers then you need to consider using a new amp to drive the new speakers as well.
I can't vouch for this but I have been looking at upgradng this BSW. All the reviews that I read seem to be pretty positive.

I HAVE a pair of MB Quaurt P series speaker that were really exspensive. these are components for the front only. tweeters are amazing! does anyone know if this is the best way to go? i really dont want to install a sound system because i heard you get ERRORS? can anyone confirm? do i need to do a special install or can anywhere install(MB QUARTS)? i really dont want to buy an AMP for my components and since BSW is plug and play thats whats really selling me. SHOULD I GO BSW? WHO HAS IT? HELP

BSW is a good speaker ... but you might also wanna read this thread http://forums.5serie...-bsw-and-beyond
BSW will improve the clarity of your sound. But you should also retrofit an aftermarket amplifier. The max volume is still pretty soft after the BSW upgrade. To be honest if you really want a slamming system you might need to go all aftermarket and get a sound processor with new amps and speakers, all aftermakret. You got to figure getting BSW and an amp retrofited is gona be near $1K anyway...
What are you looking for? More thump? You can do what I did if you're handy........
I added a HiFonics Amp and a Kicker Solo-baric and built my own customer speaker enclosure for the kickpanel out of fiberglass. I put rubberized undercoat on the inner quarter panels and the trunk lid. Everyone thinks I have a lot more than what I have. Cost me about $250 for speaker, amp, materials to build.
