Since it appears that the E60 is coming with a mini-spare, has anyone replaced this with an "ordinary" full size alloy and tire? If you decided not to shoe up with "run-flats" and switched to "non-run-flat" tires would a full size spare fit in the trunk spare area?
Anyone do this? I know the wheels are staggered on the sport pack, but I run a matching full size spare on my current E39 (18" wheel and tire-front size fitment)and it fits fine in the stowage area. Curious about the E60.
Thanks!

The spare tire well has some foam pieces in the bottom that iare holding eletronic modules. With the foam piece in place the 18X9 wheel is too wide to fit properly.
The foam can be removed but then you will need to secure the electronics.

You should be able to put the full size spare in face down, thread the electronics module through the spokes, to re-seat it in the wheel. Then, the jack, etc kit should sit in the wheel as it does now. I have been considering this, since I replaced the RFTs with non-RFTs, but haven't verified. The wheel well definitely looks large enough though.
