Hello Guys,

I bought the car like that, so not sure whats going on ...

When I turn off the car, I hear a knock kind of sound at the very end of engine turning off. Seems to me some foundation bushing problem? Any one has any idea, what it could be? Is that a known issue?

Can you give us a little more information about your car? Year, model, etc.

 

Do you have an M54 engine? Is the sound like a sucking sound? If so this is normal. It's letting out excess air as it's supposed to. But without much info we can't be of much help

 

Sure... its actually N52 Engine, car is 2006, 530I. The sound is hard to explain, but its not sucking.. its kind of like knocking, but instead of typing knock, its just one knock, when the engine is about to turn off...

Do you have active steering?

 

Are you using Premium gas?

 

Could be the fan in the front spinning down and stopping. Mine makes a little annoying sound right at the end, every time, right after I turn the car off.

 

Thats a good idea... I will actually spend some time on it and try to figure it out myself as well.. i would have done that, the only problem is to get someone else to at least turn of the engine

 

Yes I do.... can it be also a reason?
