The one where you believe his knowledge is somewhat reliable.
Ask our forum members here how reliable any information about the E60 is coming from even a current service department head, let alone a former one...![Whistling](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/whistling.gif)

Hello from the E61 side of the forum!!
OK, so that was quite a rant about the design/engineering and sourcing of the AWD system for the xi. In my first 10,000 miles with my 530xiT, I have been very happy. If GM had anything to do with it, maybe there is hope for them after all!
On to the more interesting content of the original post.
You refer to a "springs only" lowering mod to the suspension. What is the "proper" method for lowering the chassis over the wheels? The Touring (wagon) includes a self-leveling rear suspension that complicates things a great deal, although I have seen a few different approaches to addressing this on the forum.
The comment on front to rear staggered sizing and the criticality of equal circumference raises the concern: if a new set of two tires is mounted (front or rear) while retaining the "old" set on hte other axle, does this run the risk of stressing the AWD system components?
I look forward to hearing from some knowledgeable members.
