Is this something I should be worried about?

please note that on LCI models that the temp gauge on the tach meter is disengaged/does not work (before any LCI owners start reading this thread and starts thinking their e60 is not working correctly)

Hey Bulldog,
Some have reported that they felt an increase in power over the older heads. Do you see this? Also, is it running smoother now? How long did they have it?

On a side note. Here's what I did when I went to approach my SA.
I prepared and printed every document I can get even, the images of receipts that others have posted. Also, I made sure that I understood the problem the best I can so that if I get any hesitation from them, I'll be ready to counter....luckily my SA just told me he already knew about it and will fix the situation....
.....basically what I'm telling you and I quote Mr Snoop Dizzle..."if you stay ready you don't have to get ready"

This is interesting to read! I never paid attention to this issue as I have the V8, but I brought my wife's 2007 X5 3.0 in for its regular service and she mentioned the engine is making this strange ticking noise. I don't hear it but mention it to my SA at drop off. Picked later that afternoon and he told me about this "bleeding" procedure they did on the cylinders and took care of it. Seems fine for now but we'll see if it comes back. Ultimately it's a lease so I likely won't press unless it flares up into a major issue...

Well *knock on wood* but it has been running much smoother. Power increase? there probably is, but I don't know, still breaking it in so I haven't pushed it.

The threads Gene listed describe problems with the N52 engine and detail 06 and up MY. Does this still apply to mine? I have a 2005. Just wondering, because to be prepared I will need to have the correct documentation.

I always warm my car up before going anywhere, even though I live in SoCal. I have noticed that when I first start it there is a clicking noise that is coming from the engine until it warms up. Is this something I need to get checked out? I have been a little worried after reading those posts about lifter issues. What do you guys think?
The car really don't need no warming up, the new modern electronics make sure of that.
Just move away at once but don't rev it before the engine is warm,
after some 10 - 15 minutes.
