Left my 5er outside the surgery last night - "something" has happened to the front passenger wing - the scratches are down to the bare metal? ? I know this stuff happens, but I'm still annoyed - she's only 2 weeks old.

However, she's still beautiful

I feel your pain. After having my '06 530xi for only 3 weeks a friend of mine noticed a ping/ding/dimple on my roof on the passenger side rear roof. The car has been kept in the garage. I can't imagine it happened while I had ownership. The dealer had their dent and ding man that goes to the dealership once a week take a look at it and because of its location cannot be fixed. The curtain airbag and the tracks to the sunroof are in the way.

This is something that makes me go mad
Some jelous ass**le protests against your success.
If the scratches go all the way to the metal, it needs to be painted.
I'm really sorry!

Sorry to hear/see that. You may want to try to repair yourself--see how it turns out before thinking about having the door sprayed. Black is probably the easiest color to repair--get some touch up paint from the dealer, and get a bottle of Langka:
http://www.langka.com/
Follow the Langka directions--basicaly you want to apply several lght coats (use a toohpick--not the brush) unitl you've filled in the chips, and over a bit so you have a small blob, which the Langka will take care of. Works best with non-metalic paints.
